Ali MacGraw | Born 1939

We always remember Ali MacGraw for her portrayal of Jenny, the main character in the classic romantic comedy Love Story. The 1970 film got seven Academy Award nominations, making it one of the most popular movies. Although her film investments started with a streak of excellent pictures, she appeared on screen less regularly in the years that followed. She recently came out of acting retirement for a special reunion with Ryan O’Neal. Still, she now leads a peaceful life away from the world of movies.

MacGraw also starred in the blockbusters The Getaway and Convoy and had a recurring role in Dynasty. She last appeared on screen in the 1997 film Glam and performed in the Broadway drama Festen in 2006. She has followed other interests since giving up acting. She is a strong advocate for animal rights and has worked with groups that do so.
