Sam Elliott | Born 1944

Sam Elliott immediately comes to mind when we think of a cowboy. He certainly had the appearance of a true cowboy, with his lean but seasoned body, stunning mustache, and deep, booming voice. In his five-decade career, he has consistently been the best and sometimes the only apparent candidate for this kind of character. He may not have won many accolades throughout his lengthy acting career, but his performances undoubtedly earned him a remarkable degree of fame. He successfully won over those responsible for popularizing “Sam Elliott.”

He made his debut in a major motion picture in the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He was also stereotyped as a cowboy, which he eventually grew to accept. He rose to fame thanks to his parts in You Know My Name and The Big Lebowski. The actor is still appearing in movies and television series at age 78.
