Retired American actress Gena Rowlands has a long seven decades career on film, television, and stage. She is well known for her collaborations with her late husband, actor-director John Cassavetes, in ten films, including Gloria and A Woman Under the Influence, which earned her nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress. She is also known for her performances in movies like Another Woman, Hysterical Blindness, The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie, The Skeleton Key, and The Notebook.

Her investments in the entertainment industry have gained four Emmy and two Golden Globe awards. She also received a Silver Bear for Best Actress for her movie Opening Night. In 2015, Rowlands was awarded with Honorary Academy Award for her unique screen performances.
