Tippi Hedren | Born 1930
Tippi Hedren is a former fashion model and actress. She is also an animal rights activist who started the Roar Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that supports the Shambala Preserve, back in 1983. She also initiated relief programs all over the world following earthquakes, wars, hurricanes, and famine. Hedren also contributed to the development of Vietnamese-American nail salons.
As a fashion model, she became the front cover of Life and Glamour magazines. She was then discovered by director Alfred Hitchcock when she appeared in a television commercial in 1961. She gained significant credits for her two films, the suspense-thriller The Birds, where she won a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year, and the psychological drama Marnie. Overall, she was able to make over 80 films and television shows.
