Debby Boone is an American singer, actress, and author, who primarily recorded gospel music together with her parents and sisters. She received her most significant credit for her 1977 hit song, You Light Up My Life, which became number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for ten weeks. This led to her winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist the following year.

Boone decided to focus her music career on country music, which later brought her back to the number one slot for her 1980 single Are You on the Road to Lovin’ Me Again. With her recorded Christian music, she garnered four top 10 Contemporary Christian albums and two more Grammys. She has also co-authored several children’s books with her husband, Gabriel Ferrer.
